July 6th is National Kissing Day in the United Kingdom.This holiday has recently been adopted worldwide making July the 6th the International Kissing Day or World Kiss Day.

In Korean there are two ways to say it:
뽀뽀 (Ppo-ppo): usually a little kiss, or a kiss on the cheek
키스 (ki-su): a romantic kiss.
Chinese characters: 亲吻,吻,亲
Slovenian: poljub
Armenian: համբյուր – hambyur
Romanian:pupic
Malay: ciuman.
Tamil: mutham
Hindi: Chumma or Chumban
Malayalam:Umma
Gujarati: Pappi (pup-pee)
Urdu/Hindi: Chummha (choom-maa)/Bosaa
Farsi:Moch
Welsh: Sws y Ceffyl
Latvian: kiss = 1) skūpsts (very intimate) 2) buča
The idea behind the International Kissing Day is that many people may have forgotten the simple pleasures associated with kissing for kissing’s sake, as opposed to kissing as mere social formality or prelude to other activities. Kissing can be an enjoyable experience in and of itself. It is an expression and experience of intimacy. International Kissing Day is not as commercialised as Valentine’s Day.

I too love the 20′s/30′s as I grew up on silent films due to my father reproducing them from paper/nitrate for the Library of Congress here in the U.S.
